Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Book Clutch!

I love hideaway books--secret keepers of my choicest treasures.  While the 'treasures' in my first book may have mostly consisted of chalky calcium pills and Polly Pocket characters, the concept is the same and my fixation remains.  So, naturally, I was entranced when I first spotted Olympia Le-Tan's book clutches.  Beautiful renderings of the Classics embroidered on canvas with brass finishings--perfection.  Sadly, I don't have the budget to spend 2k on a purse (which, might I add, is a CRIME).

That's where my hero, Kate, comes in.
Ta Dah!  Kate Spade saves the day...again!
Her book clutches retail for $325, but I was able to snag mine for only $99 at a flash sale.  Huzzah!  The colorful covers printed on canvas are super cute.
The only thing I thought of as a negative is that they're covered in plastic like grandma's couch, but then I realized--it's probably for the best.  I'm kind of a huge klutz (my family actually used to take bets on when I'd spill and what it would be..oops!).

Gotta love the melding of form and function--Grandma always did know best!

Also, I love Love LOVE Dickens, so I plan on picking up "A Tale of Two Cities next."  :)

Lolla Dress FTW!

Last weekend I had a complete blast at Lollapalooza in Grant Park in Chicago, IL.  Three days of fun in the sun (oh...minus a storm that required an evacuation) with great music and friends.  The only drawback, is that  Lolla destroys clothing. I've lost two pairs of shoes and a few shirts and a pair of shorts to the festival over three years, so this time, I prepared.  I went out of my way to buy clothing that I was alright with destroying.  My journey led me to Macy's, where I found this SUPER cute dress.  It's the Pansy Tank Dress from Cynthia Rowley's Print Edition.

First and foremost, it's black.  All the better to hide the grass stains and dirt.  Plus, it's a super breathable jersey knit.  Not enough?  There's a bit of a train in the back--perfect for lounging in the grass.  BUT, the real kicker?  The pansy print on the front makes me look super skinny.  BINGO.

The best news?  IT SURVIVED!  I'm ecstatic that it didn't have to go down as a one hit wonder.
Sadly, I can't seem to find it on Macy's website, but it is still available for purchase on Cynthia Rowley's site.  Better yet, unlike most of my obsessions, this one is super affordable at only $88!  Even if it isn't your speed, you should definitely check out the Print Edition Collection.  I'm certainly a fan!

Oh, and just in case you were wondering about the rest of my outfit,  details are below....
-Bow trimmed fedora from Forever 21...$6
-LeSportsac bag I bought for my first Lolla
-All Saints sandals from two seasons ago
-Kate Spade Rory Sunnies (featured in this post)...now only $76

Riddle Me This...

Is this dress too much for an outdoor wedding?  I don't want to be 'that girl.'  You know the one.  The girl that is silently (and in some cases not-so-silently) screaming for attention on someone else's big day?  Yea, that one.  I don't want to be her.  My boyfriend says that this is fine...but I'm still a bit hesitant about this adorable Kate Spade frock.
Thoughts?

To give you a better idea of how it'll be styled, here are two options with the dress above, and one with the Solar Miriam dress by Kate Spade.  Please excuse the lack of make-up.  I just wasn't in the mood today!

By the way, the wedges are DVF Senegals.  They're currently on super sale at ShopBop.

With a Twist!

First, sorry for the hiatus, but due to some complications post surgery, the only clothes I've been around have been hospital gowns.  Womp womp.  Luckily, I'm back and feeling much better!

For my first post back, I've decided to try something a smidge different.  Instead of my standard wish list items, I'm going to share some pieces that have actually found a home in my closet!

Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores. So, it's needless to say that when I got an email with 'SALE' in the header, I was all over it.  I found this dress, by Leifnotes, and instantly fell in love.  Sadly, it's not on their website anymore, or I would include a link.
I cinched it with it with the Roxanne Thin Rose Gold Plate belt by Nicholas I got the month before from ShopBop.  For the record, I am in LOVE with this belt.  I wear it with absolutely everything, and get tons of compliments every time.  Since I was walking around the city, I opted for a cute pair of Prada flats.  I got these on super sale from Nordstrom Rack about a year ago, and still heart them just as much today.  Also pictured is my Effie Satchel by Mulberry.  I carry it with me everywhere, so you'll undoubtedly be seeing it again.  Last, but certainly not least, I enjoyed the one sunny Seattle day without squinting thanks to my Rory sunnies by Kate Spade, featured in an earlier post.

So that's a wrap for this test post!  Maybe it'll be just the beginning...

Floral, the Right Way!

Florals are great and fantastic, but only when done correctly.  Otherwise, you end up looking like bad drapes or grandma's duvet.  But this season, they are sooo spot on!  I tested the waters with a pair of skinny lace trousers in black from ASOS.
Understated and fantastic But now, I can't get enough.  So, I've put together this lyst of fantastic florals.  Take a peek after the jump!  Between Kate and Cacharel, my hardest decision is what to get next...

Just One More Reason Kate Spade is My Fave!

I love Kate's twists on simple, classic silhouettes, and this is no exception!
I saw this while I was browsing through Nordstrom and instantly fell in love.  It's that perfect bag that you can pick up an carry immediately with any outfit.  And, like all Kate Spade bags, it has a touch of personality on the inside.
Black too boring?  It also comes in red, tan, and white!
