Here's One for the Boys!

Normally I blog about my own fashion exploits, but today I'd like to shine a light on my pet project, aka my boyfriend!  :)  Before we started dating his closet was divided into jerseys and free tshirts (with some overlap), and Barney was just a purple dinosaur.  But, slowly but surely, I've been working with him.
Now he waits in line with me at H&M launches, and tells me which pair of shoes he likes best.  Still, he was hesitant to let me help change his 'look.'
Then one fateful day we meandered into Barney's and noticed a sale in the men's section.  After some groaning, I managed to get him into the dressing room.  He tried on a few items he seemed to like, but nothing ground breaking.  Then, he stepped out in this, a suede moto jacket by Theory.
The smile on his face was enough for me, and I told him we were getting it whether he liked it or not.  I mean, it was the only one left, it fit him perfectly, and it was 50% off!  No Brainer.

Well...the flood gates are open!!!  He wore the jacket to work and got a ton of compliments.  Now when we go shopping, he asks to go to the men's section.  I've even gotten him to share in my love of chinos and boat shoes!
I must be the luckiest girl ever.

Riddle Me This...

Is this dress too much for an outdoor wedding?  I don't want to be 'that girl.'  You know the one.  The girl that is silently (and in some cases not-so-silently) screaming for attention on someone else's big day?  Yea, that one.  I don't want to be her.  My boyfriend says that this is fine...but I'm still a bit hesitant about this adorable Kate Spade frock.
Thoughts?

To give you a better idea of how it'll be styled, here are two options with the dress above, and one with the Solar Miriam dress by Kate Spade.  Please excuse the lack of make-up.  I just wasn't in the mood today!

By the way, the wedges are DVF Senegals.  They're currently on super sale at ShopBop.

With a Twist!

First, sorry for the hiatus, but due to some complications post surgery, the only clothes I've been around have been hospital gowns.  Womp womp.  Luckily, I'm back and feeling much better!

For my first post back, I've decided to try something a smidge different.  Instead of my standard wish list items, I'm going to share some pieces that have actually found a home in my closet!

Anthropologie is one of my favorite stores. So, it's needless to say that when I got an email with 'SALE' in the header, I was all over it.  I found this dress, by Leifnotes, and instantly fell in love.  Sadly, it's not on their website anymore, or I would include a link.
I cinched it with it with the Roxanne Thin Rose Gold Plate belt by Nicholas I got the month before from ShopBop.  For the record, I am in LOVE with this belt.  I wear it with absolutely everything, and get tons of compliments every time.  Since I was walking around the city, I opted for a cute pair of Prada flats.  I got these on super sale from Nordstrom Rack about a year ago, and still heart them just as much today.  Also pictured is my Effie Satchel by Mulberry.  I carry it with me everywhere, so you'll undoubtedly be seeing it again.  Last, but certainly not least, I enjoyed the one sunny Seattle day without squinting thanks to my Rory sunnies by Kate Spade, featured in an earlier post.

So that's a wrap for this test post!  Maybe it'll be just the beginning...

I Hate Motorcycles

...but that's not about to keep me from loving these moto boots!  The only issue is that I may have a condition that makes me love expensive things.  Seriously.  It's an sickness.  :)

I tried these on at Nordstrom last month and it took all of my strength to take them off.
I love that these don't have the traditional buckles.  It's a minor twist that sets them apart.

Decisions decisions...

Oh!  And to see the rest of my biker picks, check out my Lyst!

Snoozer Loser

is fantastic.  Snoozer Loser  is a super adorable indie brand full of hand printed organic cotton clothing and kitschy cute accessories.  How, you ask, did I find Snoozer Loser (yes, I do just like saying it)? Daily Candy, a fashion newsletter/deal notifier told me!  Better than that, they are running a deal (valid until 5/31/2012) for 50% off gift certificates to the site.  SCORE!  The only question left?  "What do I buy?"  Contenders below!

Also, I wish I had a niece, so that I could buy the mini version.

Also, I wish their crafty title 'font' was available in Word.  I would use it endlessly.

Ridiculous, I know. But that doesn't stop me.

Below is the Inclusion Hair Clip by Louis Vuitton.  It's absolutely perfect, and comes in seven wonderful shades.  The three below are my favorites.
The only catch is that each one retails for $380.00.  It's ridiculous, I know.  I mean, a nearly $400 barrette?  Yet...I can't seem to close the webpage.  I even went so far as to check which locations have them in store.  I think at a bare minimum they deserve some attention, so I'm enshrining them here for all to see.  You're welcome.  ;)

I Heart Online Shopping

Because if it weren't for Zara's new-ish retail site, I would have to road trip it to their über packed Vancouver location to pick up the goods.
I know I normally have images, but this post would have been a mile long, so I'm trying my hand at a slideshow.  Check out the video to see some of my picks.
